Default Tippmann sierra one

Hi guys. Im planning on buying my first paintball gun. Ive been looking at the sierra one for quite some time and love the looks. I spoke to a guy at a paintball shop and he said that he can upgrade it to around 480fps. Would the gun be able to manage that and how acurate will it be then? I know i wont be able to play games with it as the regulation is around 280fps. What is your general input on this gun? Ive seen pics on this gun with all the accessories and it looks wicked.

Great reliable Tippmann, easy to clean and strip, very robust, not tempremental with paint, as you said easily upgradable, Iv had mine since they first came out and had no issues at all with it, and its well used, for a first bushball marker a great choice, and even with an X7 I still go back to the Sierra more often than not.

Some upgrades that you would benefit from
  • Cyclone + Low Profile Hopper
  • The stock barrel is great, so change it if you want a little more accuracy at distance
  • X7 G36 Rail works well with the full Picatinny rail on the top
  • folding stock can be changed for sliding stock from Bravo One
  • A vertical handle works well aswell
Turning the pressure up past 400fps increases your chances of cracking or splitting your powertube and puts excess strain on the o-rings especially if you are running Co2, not to mention most paint wont stand up to those pressures...

Accuracy goes out the window at anything much above 300fps, you generally have better accuracy at 240fps to 280fps as there is less turbulance and air to disperse when you fire.

Yeah, I love my Sierra One. Very good entry level marker with enough rails to mount the kitchen sink too.

Firstly, I doubt the shop who told you it could shoot at 480fps knows what they are talking about. We have yet to get a marker up to that speed without a serious valve and spring mod.

Secondly, WHY would you want to shoot at that speed anyway!

Bought my Sierra One about a week ago, and i must say WOW

Its really very good, easy to upgrade/repair and looks wicked.

One tip get a remote line, the bottle gets in the way especially if you collapse the stock and it does reduce the weight quit a bit.

Other than that go for it, its really cheap for what you get, and really fun to play with (especially if you got noob friends, the sight of the gun freaks them out)

@Sandman: With that rail on top can you see threw the red dot with a mask on? That was one downside the iron sights are useless with a mask on

can't imagine shooting at 480fps being a sales pitch. Other than that Sierra is built on the same insides as the 98c, which is a great marker.

If I only starte playing paintball now, I would have gotten myself the sierra 1. I actually like all those 98c based ones, But the sierra is the best I think for putting on extra cool stuff.

X7 sight rail has an integrated iron sight of sorts and is perfectly elevated for a red dot

two pics of my sierra one before i took the bipod off and put on a vertical handle and a bigger duel lense red dot
